India set multiple records in the 3rd T20I against Bangladesh in Hyderabad, with captain Suryakumar Yadav joining an elite list alongside Virat Kohli. The Men in Blue won by 133 runs, sealing a series sweep.
New Delhi: It was a day to be remembered for the Indian T20I as they played an all-conquering game that vanished Bangladesh under a mountainous 133-run margin to seal the clean sweep in the three-match series on Saturday (October 12) in Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Sanju Samson emerged as the star of the match playing a blistering inning of 111 off just 47 deliveries. Such an incredible century took him to the second-fastest Indian, transforming the match into a memory.
Sanju Samson’s explosive innings powered India to a massive 297/6, marking the second-highest T20I team total in history and India’s highest ever in the format.
India broke several records in the game, and the most important landmark was reached by skipper Suryakumar Yadav. Yadav played the supporting hand well for Samson by scoring 35-ball 75. Yadav surpassed Rohit Sharma to become the second-fastest Indian to score 2500 T20I runs, doing so in 71 innings, which is a record. Virat Kohli remains the Indian player who took the shortest possible time to reach 2,500 T20I runs: against West Indies in 2019 in 68 innings.
