Suryakumar Yadav is now on a break from national duties with India’s home Test season coming up. The 34-year-old has been looking to make a comeback into the Indian Test team and get some validation for his performances in the domestic arena. However, an injury has ruled him out for the first couple of rounds of the Duleep Trophy 2024 after he hurt his right thumb during fielding in the Buchi Babu tournament.
While India have 5 home Tests against Bangladesh and 5 away Tests against Australia, Suryakumar Yadav’s international outings for the rest of this year could be a bit limited. For starters, he will lead Team India in a 3-match T20I series against Bangladesh beginning October 6 and also lead the T20I side on its tour to South Africa for a four-match series.
